Job Description MS fabric Data Engineer Role

Overview of The Role The Data Engineeris responsible fordesigning,building, and supporting scalable, secure, and high‑performance analyticssolutions on the Microsoft Fabric platform. This role combines robust technicaldepth with business acumen to translate evolving business needs into trusteddata products.

The individual will play a key role in shaping andexecutingourclientsmodern BI and analytics strategy.

HowYou Will Make Contributions That Matter: Partnerclosely with stakeholders to translate business requirements intoFabric-based data models, pipelines, and analytical solutions

Contributeto the end-to-end design and evolution of a scalable enterprise analyticsarchitecture using Microsoft Fabric

Collaboratewith Business SMEs and technical teams (Infrastructure,Security,Dynamics, external) to design and deliver sustainable, governed analyticssolutions

Assistwithpreparation and facilitation of design workshops with documented outcomes(requirements, design, data models)

Ensuresolutions are scalable, secure, cost-effective, and aligned withdata& aistrategy

Designand develop high-performance data engineering components capable ofprocessing large volumes of structured and semi-structured data

Buildreusable, enterprise-grade data models (Lakehouse and semantic models)aligned with architectural standards and best practices

Contributeto administration, governance,



and operational health of the MicrosoftFabric platform

Defineand execute test strategies, including data validation, performancetuning, and data profiling

MonitorFabric pipelines, data refreshes, and workloads, proactively troubleshootand resolve issues

Ownincident resolution and day-to-day sustainment of Fabric analyticssolutions

tilizeMicrosoft Analytics tools for seamless integration and efficient userinterface development to enhance overall user experience

OptimizeSQL,Spark, and DAX queriesfor performance and scalability

Mentoranalytics, functional and business teams on Microsoft Fabric capabilities,patterns, and best practices

Contributesto work effort estimation for new and enhancedprojectopportunities

Supervision Actsas an individual contributor andoperatesindependently whileensuring alignment with enterprise BI and analytics strategy

Canoversee project and support activities such as troubleshooting,enhancements, capacity planning, upgrades, and migrations

Communicatesclearly and collaborates effectively with cross-functional andgeographically distributed teams

Qualifications Bachelor’sdegree in information systems, Computer Science, Software Engineering, orequivalent experience

5+years of hands‑on experience delivering enterprise analytics and dataengineering solutions on Microsoft platforms

Strongexperience engineering solutions on Microsoft Fabric and modern Azureanalytics services, with understanding and working knowledge of otherindustry-standard analytics and data engineering tools.





MicrosoftAzure / Fabric certifications

Strongfoundationin:

Dataingestion and integration

Datatransformation and orchestration

Datastorage, data lakes, andlakehousearchitecture

Datawarehousing and dimensional modeling

Experiencewith CI/CD, DevOps, and source control (Azure DevOps, GitHub)

Understandingof administration, security, and governance for Microsoft analyticsplatforms

Experiencewith enterprise delivery methodologies(Agile/ Waterfall)andestimation practices

Robustunderstanding of Optimization techniques to improve ingestionprocess

Experiencein building real time solutions end to end

Experiencein ingesting data from SaaS, on-prem, PaaS,SharePointanddifferent file formats

Understandingofadvanced AI technologies likeML,Agentic AI.

Strongwritten and verbal communication skills, especially for technical designdocumentation

Abilitytooperateeffectively across complex, interdependentworkstreams, teams, and geographies

Up-to-dateknowledge of industry trends and best practices in data engineering andanalytics

Stronghands‑on experience as a Data Engineer on MicrosoftFabric and Azureplatforms, including:

FabricLakehouse/Warehouse/EventHouse/MaterializedLakeview

FabricIngestion(Data Factory, Pipelines,Dataflow Gen1, Dataflow Gen2, CopyJob,Notebooks,EventStream,Spark JobDefinition,Spark structure streaming)

FabricOrchestration(ApacheAirflow)

Experiencewith Azure analytics services, including:

AzureDatabricks (where applicable)

Developmentusing Python and Spark notebooks

AdvancedSQL skills for analytical workloads

Goodunderstanding of Power BI

Workspace,security, and capacity management

Solidunderstanding of DevOps / GitHub for version control and CI/CD

Practicalunderstanding of Microsoft Fabric governance, security (One Lake Security,SQL security), and workload management
