Position Overview Reporting to the Manager, Enterprise Analytics, the Business Intelligence Developer is responsible for the design, development, implementation, and support of enterprise business intelligence, reporting, and analytics solutions that enable data-driven decision-making across the organization. The role develops interactive dashboards, data models, automated reporting solutions, and analytical products that transform complex healthcare and operational data into actionable insights for clinical, operational, and executive stakeholders. The Business Intelligence Developer collaborates with healthcare leaders, subject matter experts, and technical teams to build scalable reporting and analytics solutions that support organizational performance, strategic planning, operational excellence, and continuous improvement initiatives. The role leverages advanced business intelligence technologies, data integration tools, and reporting platforms to deliver accurate, timely, and meaningful information across the enterprise.
Responsibilities Design, develop, implement, and maintain enterprise business intelligence solutions, dashboards, reports, scorecards, and data visualizations that support operational, clinical, and strategic decision-making.
Develop interactive reporting and analytics solutions utilizing Power BI and other business intelligence technologies to deliver meaningful insights to stakeholders across the organization.
Design, build, and maintain complex SQL queries, datasets, data models, stored procedures, and reporting structures to support enterprise analytics initiatives.
Develop, optimize, and support ETL processes, data integration workflows, and automated reporting solutions utilizing SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), Power Query, and related technologies.
Extract, transform, validate, and integrate data from multiple clinical, financial, operational, and administrative systems to support reporting and analytics requirements.
Analyze complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, opportunities, and insights that support organizational planning, performance improvement, and business decision-making.
Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements, analyze reporting needs, document specifications, and translate business requirements into scalable analytics solutions.
Create and maintain robust enterprise data models utilizing best practices for performance, scalability, governance, and usability.
Develop and maintain advanced DAX calculations, Power Query transformations, and business logic to support analytical reporting requirements.
Monitor and optimize database, query, report, and dashboard performance to ensure productive and reliable delivery of analytics solutions.
Identify, investigate, and resolve data quality, integrity, and consistency issues across multiple source systems and reporting environments.
Develop visual summaries, presentations, and analytical products that effectively communicate complex information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Develop and maintain technical documentation, report specifications, data dictionaries, development standards, and support procedures.
Collaborate with Information Technology Services teams, clinical leaders, operational stakeholders, and external partners to support enterprise reporting, analytics, and data governance initiatives.
Ensure compliance with organizational policies, privacy legislation, information security standards, and data governance requirements related to healthcare information and reporting.
Participate in the design, testing, implementation, and ongoing support of enterprise analytics, reporting, and business intelligence projects.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum three (3) years of progressive experience developing and supporting business intelligence, reporting, and analytics solutions.
Advanced experience developing, deploying, and maintaining interactive dashboards, scorecards, and analytical solutions using Power BI or comparable business intelligence platforms.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SharePoint, Microsoft Excel, and the integration of these technologies.
Demonstrated experience with SQL development, database design, data extraction, transformation and loading (ETL), scripting, automation, and SQL performance optimization.
Advanced experience with DAX, Power Query (M), data modeling, and business intelligence solution development.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to work with complex datasets, identify data quality issues, and develop meaningful visualizations and insights.
Demonstrated experience gathering business requirements, documenting specifications, and translating business needs into reporting and analytics solutions.
Experience developing standardized reporting frameworks, performance dashboards, and enterprise reporting tools.
Excellent communication, presentation, stakeholder engagement, and relationship management skills.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality solutions from concept through implementation.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines while working independently in a fast-paced environment.
Proven ability to quickly learn new technologies,
business processes, and analytics methodologies.
