Job Description Additional Information

The Welding Department is seeking qualified applications for casual/on-call teaching opportunities within The School of Trades, Industry and Professional Studies at Camosun College. A successful applicant will have the energy, commitment and motivation required to teach all types and levels of welding and must be available to teach our day shift (8am – 3pm). Diverse industry experience including code work such as shop fabrication, heavy construction and maintenance/repair ( ASME or CSA W59). Experience must include Oxy-Acetylene cutting and welding, SMAW , GMAW , GTAW , plasma cutting and weld fitting.



Knowledge of welding machine and related metal cutting and forming equipment operation is also necessary for this position.

Qualifications

Certificate of Qualification with Interprovincial Red Seal endorsement

BC PWP7 and PWP10 pressure tickets,

Computer literacy, including a working knowledge of MS Office products including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Teams.

Teaching experience and a minimum of one year coaching, mentoring, supervisory or other leadership experience.

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered

British Columbia “A” Level welder certificate

BC Instructors Diploma or equivalent teaching certificate

BC Class A Pressure Welder Certificate of Qualification

CSA W178.2 Level 2 or Level 3 Welding Inspector Certification with ASME section VIII /IX endorsement, or a current Welding Examiner Certificate of Competency issued by ABSA
