Responsibilities
Implement Arondite's technology with customers so it effectively solves real-world problems
Collect feedback from end users and contribute to the development of core product features
Help build Arondite's deployed capability in Canada
Travel to customer sites in Canada and sometimes internationally, including offices, test facilities, ranges, exercise environments and operationally relevant field locations
Understand unfamiliar systems, engage directly with users and deploy Arondite's products by writing code that solves real use cases
Travel to customer sites to meet users and understand their use cases
Build secure, robust software in accordance with secure coding standards and internal security policies
Deploy products into customer environments
Interface with and test autonomous and robotic systems in the field
Integrate with unfamiliar platforms, data sources and operational systems as required by customer needs
Iterate with customers to refine implementations and maximise user value
Collaborate with deployed engineers across AI/ML, networking and robotics
Collect lessons from the field and turn them into product insight for the wider engineering team
Build Arondite's understanding of Canadian defence and public-sector operating environments
Drive a culture of excellence within the deployed team and wider company
Requirements
A degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical or scientific subject
Robust core programming skills in either server-side languages such as C++, Java, Rust or Python, or front-end development in TypeScript or JavaScript using frameworks such as Angular or React
A deep enthusiasm for expanding your knowledge across a diverse technology stack
Strong customer-facing communication skills
Willingness to travel and work on-site with customers
The ability to work effectively in fast-moving environments where requirements may evolve quickly
The confidence to engage with complex technical systems and solve practical integration problems
A high level of ownership, initiative and comfort operating autonomously from day one
Existing Right to Work in Canada at the time of application
Likely requirement to hold a clearance or be willing to undergo Canadian security screening
Continuous residency in Canada for at least 5 years for Reliability Status, and 10 years for Secret, normally required for the relevant screening
Understanding of working on embedded or resource-constrained devices
Experience working with legacy systems
Experience with SQL databases such as PostgreSQL
Experience with machine learning applications
Passion for or experience working with hardware
Familiarity with defence, public-sector or other regulated delivery environments
Awareness of information-handling constraints, export controls or security requirements relevant to defence work
Experience deploying software in environments where reliability, resilience and operational usability matter
Core Competencies
Demonstrates solid programming skills in languages such as C++, Java, Rust, Python, TypeScript, and JavaScript, with a focus on secure coding practices and integration of complex systems. Possesses a deep understanding of Canadian defence and public-sector environments, along with the ability to engage with customers and iterate on product implementations.
