Our mandate is to reduce injuries among care workers and leaders by providing education, training, and resources across the province.Working at SafeCare BC is suited for someone who is motivated by making a meaningful impact for health care workers and leaders and is interested in creating practical, people‑centred learning experiences.Position overviewThe Learning and Development Coordinator is an entry‑level role that supports the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of SafeCare BC’s education programs. Working closely with the Learning and Development Manager and the broader education and events team, this role contributes to the development of engaging learning experiences that meet the needs of the continuing care sector.The role offers opportunities to support in‑person and virtual events, facilitate learning sessions,
and engage directly with frontline health care workers across the province.This role is well suited for individuals early in their learning and development career who are looking to build foundational skills across instructional design, LMS administration, and facilitation.We’re looking for someone who:Is comfortable asking questions and learning as they goValues feedback and uses it to improve their workEnjoys working with others to solve problems and refine ideasTakes initiative while also knowing when to seek inputIs motivated by creating practical, meaningful learning experiences for people working in various health care rolesKey responsibilitiesLearning content development and supportSupport the development of microlearning and safety huddlesAssist in updating and enhancing existing courses based on learner feedback and evaluation dataCollaborate with subject matter experts to incorporate leading practices and current evidence into learning materialsEnsure content is clear, engaging, and aligned with adult learning principlesConduct quality assurance reviews of learning materialsLearning management system supportAct as LMS super‑user for SafeCare BC’s learning management system (LMS), supporting course setup, updates, and troubleshootingMaintain course content, user records, and reporting within the LMSSupport internal teams and external users with LMS‑related inquiriesMonitor course participation and completion data to support evaluation and reportingProgram and course deliverySupport the development of engaging courses that are relevant and timelyDevelop materials to enhance the delivery of courses for facilitatorsFacilitate virtual and in‑person training sessions (occasional and dependent on aptitude and experience)Event support and member engagementSupport planning and delivery of eventsAttend onsite member events to support education delivery and engagementEngage with frontline health care assistants and other workers to promote learning opportunitiesGather feedback from participants to inform continuous improvementContinuous improvement and collaborationSupport evaluation activities, including surveys and feedback analysisIdentify opportunities to improve learning experiences and processesCollaborate with internal teams to align education initiatives with organizational prioritiesContribute to a positive, team‑oriented environmentExperienceSome experience in learning and development, education, training, or a related field (co‑op or internship experience considered)Experience working with learning management systems is an assetExperience developing or supporting training materials is an assetExperience working with frontline staff or in health care, social services, or a related sector is an assetStrong organizational and coordination skillsQualificationsPost‑secondary studies in Education, Adult Learning, Instructional Design, or a related field, or equivalent experienceStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlinesComfortable using digital tools and learning technologiesInterest in adult learning, workplace health and safety, and program developmentWhat SafeCare BC offersSalary range of $70,000 - $80,000 per year, based on experienceSafe and healthy organizational cultureHealth benefit plan with tele‑health and RRSP matchingMeaningful work with the opportunity to contribute to positive changeProfessional development support and growth opportunities within learning and developmentA great team atmosphere and people‑first cultureHybrid work environmentOpportunity to travel within the provinceApplication processSubmit a one‑page writing sample describing how you would design a short learning resource for busy frontline staff with limited time.#J-18808-Ljbffr
