Position Summary
Oxford Learning is seeking a part‑time teacher‑tutor to provide after‑school and evening instruction in mathematics and science to students in grades 9‑12. The role is fully pre‑planned; teachers receive comprehensive training in our proprietary methodologies.
Position Requirements
Work hours: 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm weekdays, 10:00 am – 3:00 pm Saturdays (some). Commitment through June preferred; summer extension desirable. In‑person only; must be able to commute to St. Albert. Vulnerable sector screening mandatory.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification in a relevant field.
- University students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered.
- Knowledge of Grades 9‑12 math (Advanced Functions, Algebra, Trigonometry, Calculus, Vectors) and science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology).
Experience
- Teaching or tutoring experience at the Grade 9‑12 level.
- Strong written and oral communication skills in English.
- Solid math skills and ability to guide student understanding.
- Ability to multitask and manage up to three students simultaneously.
Responsibilities
- Teach up to three students at a time across various levels.
- Follow Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies.
- Maintain post‑lesson notes and daily student communication updates.
- Provide a friendly, professional workplace at all times.
