Our Remediation Division applies a wide range of innovative technologies to address contaminants in groundwater, soil, and bedrock. VEI is seeking a Field Technician to support the implementation of remediation programs at project sites across Canada. This role is well suited for a hands‑on qualified who enjoys working in the field, traveling, and applying specialized remediation technologies in dynamic project environments.ResponsibilitiesWork collaboratively as part of a field team to execute remediation programs at project sites across Canada.Review technical memorandums, drawings, and work plans to understand site conditions and proposed remediation approaches.Coordinate with subcontractors, drillers, environmental consultants, and property owners to ensure successful program implementation.Troubleshoot and resolve real‑time field challenges, including equipment issues, amendment delivery, and investigation of subsurface preferential pathways.Support site mobilization and demobilization activities, including loading/unloading equipment, preparing materials, and managing inventory.Operate material handling and field equipment safely and efficiently.Adhere strictly to VEI health, safety, and environmental procedures and protocols.Mix and prepare remedial amendment solutions and operate pressurized injection systems, pumps,
and associated equipment.Record injection data and field parameters, and complete verification monitoring.Conduct confirmatory sampling at monitoring wells and document field activities accurately.Qualifications and RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent required; a diploma or degree in Environmental Science, Engineering Technology, Geology, or a related field is considered an asset.Valid Class G driver’s license with a clean, insurable record; experienced and comfortable driving trucks with trailers over long distances is considered an asset.Experience in environmental fieldwork is preferred; remediation experience is an asset but not required.Mechanical aptitude with the ability to operate and troubleshoot field equipment.Strong problem‑solving skills and a high level of attention to detail.Strong work ethic with excellent organizational skills.Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.Proven ability to prioritize tasks and complete work efficiently within deadlines.Ability to safely lift up to 25 kg.Willingness and ability to travel and stay in hotels for extended periods,
