Box Consulting Group is partnering with an award-winning, well-established design-build general contractor, headquartered in Richmond, BC, to hire an Estimator for its growing estimating team.

This organization has built a strong reputation delivering design-build, negotiated, and projects across Western Canada, including community centres, recreation facilities, housing complexes, warehouses, and institutional buildings .

This is an opportunity to join a hands-on estimating team where you''ll take real ownership of a diverse portfolio of competitive projects valued from $5M to $50M , building estimates and take-offs from simple blueprints and conceptual designs through to a fully developed budget.

If you''re looking for a role where your work has a direct line to the client and the final product, apply today! Responsibilities Prepare detailed cost estimates for design-build and tendered projects across multiple sectors (commercial, institutional, multi-family).

Develop conceptual and detailed budgets across the full scope of a building, including foundation, structure, envelope, and interior systems.

Conduct quantity take-offs, review design drawings, and identify constructability challenges and value-engineering opportunities.

Obtain and analyze subcontractor and supplier quotations and develop trade scopes of work.

Participate in project handover meetings and assist with budget updates during pre-construction.

Support the preparation of bid packages, budgets, and cost summaries.

Maintain and update unit cost databases and estimating tools.

Collaborate with project management, design, and procurement teams to ensure alignment between budget, design intent, and construction feasibility.

Support and, where required,



help present estimates directly to clients.

Contribute to process improvement and cost control initiatives within the estimating department.

Qualifications 36 years of estimating experience with a general contractor or design-build firm.

Full-scope building estimating experience (civil, structural, envelope) in commercial, institutional, or multi-family wood-frame or concrete construction.

Strong conceptual estimating ability, with comfort working from limited information such as a simple blueprint or early concept rather than fully developed drawings.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients and communities. A genuine ''get it done'' attitude and comfort with the realities of remote project locations.

Experience estimating with Canadian building codes, ideally with exposure to remote or northern project sites.

Proficiency with Procore.

Excellent attention to detail, analytical mindset, and collaborative work ethic; ability to manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities.

Whats In It for You Competitive salary of $95,000$115,000, based on experience.
