Finance Business Partner Location: Mount Albion, Prince Edward Island Salary: $110,000 $120,000 + benefits Schedule: Monday Friday, 8:00 AM 5:00 PM | 40 hours/week Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent About the Opportunity We are working with a family-owned and operated agricultural business based in Prince Edward Island, to find a financial leader who enjoys figuring things out.

This is not a traditional Controller or Senior Accountant position.

They already have a strong bookkeeping team and works with external accounting partners for compliance and year-end requirements.

What they are looking for is someone who can take the information the business has, make sense of it, and turn it into something practical.

With multiple business units there is a tremendous amount of opportunity to bring greater visibility to profitability, cash flow, costs and business performance.

What You''ll Be Doing Build Financial & Business Decision Tools Develop practical financial models that help leadership understand the business.

Analyze profitability by crop, business unit and project.

Build models around costs per acre, inputs, production and margins.

Evaluate break-even points and financial implications of new projects or ideas.

Turn complex or imperfect data into clear, useful information.

Identify trends, gaps and opportunities that may not be immediately visible.

Own Budgeting, Forecasting & Cash Flow Develop and maintain budgets that support real business decisions.

Build rolling cash flow forecasts and improve financial visibility.

Support forecasting and planning across multiple business units.

Help leadership understand the financial impact of different scenarios and decisions.

Move the business toward being more proactive rather than reactive with financial planning.

Improve Systems, Data & Processes Understand how information currently moves through the business and identify opportunities to improve it.

Improve spreadsheets,



reporting tools and financial processes.

Reduce duplication, manual work and unnecessary complexity.

Help connect information across different companies and business units.

Ask questions about why things are done the way they are and determine where processes can be improved.

Work with existing systems, including the company''s industry-specific ERP/accounting tools, to improve the quality and usefulness of information.

Find Problems & Opportunities This is a role for someone who doesn''t simply wait to be told what needs to be done.

You''ll be encouraged to look at the business and ask: Where are we making money? Where are our margins being lost? What are our true costs? Where are we relying on assumptions when better information is available? What information are we missing? What could we be doing differently? What opportunities are we not seeing? You''ll have the opportunity to bring forward ideas, investigate them and help turn them into practical business decisions.

Support Accounting & External Partners Work alongside the existing bookkeeping team without taking over their responsibilities.

Support year-end activities and work with the company''s external accounting partner as required.

Assist with CRA-related matters and audits when needed.

Over time, there may be an opportunity to bring additional accounting and reporting functions in-house.

What We''re Looking For We''re looking for someone who combines financial knowledge with curiosity, analytical thinking and practical business sense.

You may come from a background in:



FP&A; Financial analysis Management accounting Business analysis Finance business partnering Cost or profitability analysis Financial systems/process improvement Or an accounting background where you''ve moved beyond traditional accounting into analysis and decision support.

What Success Looks Like Success in this role will mean that they have greater clarity around its business and can make decisions with more confidence.

You''ll help the organization: Clearly understand profitability across its different business units.

Improve visibility into costs, margins and cash flow.

Build reliable forecasting and budgeting processes.

Make better use of the data it already has.

Develop simple, practical financial models for decision-making.

Identify inefficiencies and opportunities.

Bring more structure to a growing and increasingly complex business.

Not a traditional Controller role.

Not an operations management position.

Not about maintaining the status quo.

It''s about understanding the business , making sense of the information and helping build the tools and insight needed to grow it.
