Job purpose:
The Intermediate Accountantassumes a pivotal role within our accounting department, taking on increased responsibilities in financial accounting and reporting processes. With a focus onoptimizingefficiency and accuracy, this position contributes to the development and implementation of accounting strategies and initiatives to support the company's growth trajectory.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Coordinate withAccounts Payableclerk, including verifyingaccuracyof vendor invoices and employee expenses.
- Prepareand filesales taxand GSTreturnfor Canada.
- Prepare biweekly cash flow reports tomonitorcash on hand,assistin the projection ofcash inflows andoutflowsandproposetransfers to address cash demands.
- AssistAccounts Receivable activities, includingclient onboarding,reviewing ofcontracts and clientinvoicing,and managing outstanding balances.
- Coordinate month-end closing procedures, preparing journal entries,reconciliations,costallocationsand accruals for various accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Analyze financial data and provide insights to stakeholders,identifyingtrends, variances, and areas for improvement.
- Supportduring external audits,assistingwithrequestsand providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Drive process improvements and automation initiatives within the accounting function,leveragingtechnologyand AIto enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Support members of the accounting teamand provide guidance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on special projects and initiatives,leveragingfinancialexpertiseto achieve organizationalobjectives.
- Assistwith preparing Budget Vs Actual reporting.
Qualifications, Abilities, and Skills Required:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or financerequired.
Experience:
- 3-5 years of progressive experience in professional accounting roles.

- Proficiencyin accounting principles and financial reporting requirements, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Solid analytical skills, with the ability to interpret financial data andprovideactionable insights.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities, with the capacity to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Proven critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve issues and implement solutions proactively.
- Self-motivated and results-oriented, with a drive for continuous improvement and excellence.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively.
- Proficiencyin Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, and experience with accounting software.Netsuiteexperience is an asset.
- Knowledge of US GAAP principles preferred.
