Johnson Service Group (JSG) is currently looking for a Senior Financial Analyst with experience in financial reporting, accounting, data analysis, reconciliations, and advanced Microsoft Excel .

This is a contract chance government body in Alberta .

The role will primarily be performed remotely; however, the successful candidate may be required to attend in-person meetings or work sessions in Alberta based on business needs and with reasonable notice.

Must Haves: 4 years Demonstrated experience performing data analysis techniques to profile, validate, reconcile, troubleshoot, and analyze complex datasets. 5 years Work experience creating and using advanced Excel skills such as Pivot table, VLOOKUP etc. 5 years Experience using accounting principles and accounting standards or equivalent 4 years Experience with and knowledge of financial reporting ensuring the accuracy and reliability of financial statements, and using Microsoft Excel. 4 years Experience working with Share

Point online, including working with spreadsheets accessed simultaneously by multiple users while still being able to add, modify and filter Nice to Haves: CPA designation Relevant post-secondary education in the areas of business administration, accounting or finance, Acceptable education includes degrees, diplomas and certificates 3 years Experience applying financial audit, and/or financial controls, and/or financial reconciliation, and/or financial systems governance principles to large-scale data migration, data conversion,



or ERP implementation projects 4 years Experience using ERP systems such as SAP 3 years Experience working in accounting systems creating processes, managing budgets, and internal controls 4 years The ability to accurately calculate, post, correct, and manage accounting figures and financial records Key Responsibilities Perform complex account reconciliations, financial analysis, and journal entry preparation.

Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting processes, including month-end and year-end activities.

Review financial transactions for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable policies and standards.

Investigate and resolve accounting, reporting, and financial system issues.

Monitor and analyze accounts receivable, revenue, payroll-related transactions, and inter-unit accounts.

Support internal and external audit activities through preparation of documentation, reconciliations, and working papers.

Identify financial risks, control gaps, and opportunities for process improvement.

Develop and maintain financial procedures, documentation, and reporting tools.

Provide technical advice and interpretation of accounting standards, policies, legislation, and financial procedures.

Support implementation of financial system enhancements, process improvements, and operational initiatives.
