Construction Litigation Associate Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid Work Environment) About the Company Forge is pleased to partner with a highly respected full service Canadian law firm with a leading Construction Law practice.
Our client is recognized for advising clients on complex public and private construction projects and providing sophisticated legal guidance throughout the construction lifecycle.
The firm''s Construction Law team works closely with developers, contractors, builders, architects, consultants, and other industry stakeholders, offering comprehensive support across project development, procurement, contract negotiation, risk management, and dispute resolution.
Our client is seeking a Construction Litigation Associate (4+ years of post-call experience) to join their established and growing practice.
About the Role The successful candidate will work on sophisticated construction disputes involving a diverse range of clients and projects.
Responsibilities will include: Managing construction litigation files from inception through resolution.
Handling matters involving construction liens, contractual disputes, delay claims, deficiency claims, payment disputes, and other construction-related issues.
Drafting pleadings, motions, affidavits, mediation materials, and other litigation documents.
Participating in discoveries, mediations, arbitrations, adjudications, and court proceedings.
Advising clients on dispute avoidance, risk management, and construction-related legal issues.
Collaborating with experienced construction lawyers on complex projects and disputes.
Working on a variety of public and private sector construction matters, including infrastructure, commercial developments, and residential construction projects.
The Offer Competitive compensation package with a base salary starting at approximately $185,000+ , commensurate with experience.

Billable hour target of approximately 1,700 hours annually .

What You Bring As an ideal candidate, you possess 4+ years of post-call experience with meaningful experience in Construction Litigation.
You have robust knowledge of construction disputes and related legislation, along with demonstrated experience managing litigation files independently.
You bring: Strong drafting, advocacy, and analytical skills.
Experience handling complex litigation matters.
Excellent communication and client management abilities.
Ability to work collaboratively within a sophisticated legal team.
