The position requires responding to emergency calls while working irregular schedules including days, nights, weekends and holidays to protect a 24/7 operation.Major ResponsibilitiesDevelop working partnerships with municipal, provincial and federal police officials, major industries and local businesses that affect CNIdentify high-risk locations and develop subsequent action plans to secure and prevent lossesPerform the investigation and prosecution of all criminal and penal incidents and participate actively in the enforcement and promotion of federal and provincial laws dealing with railway safetyParticipate in regular public speakingManage targeted traffic and trespass enforcementConduct presentations on various topics, including Operation LifesaverWorking ConditionsFrequent travel over a large geographical areaPreference will be given to qualified applicants in the geographical areaAvailable to work shifts, weekends,
and holidays when necessaryRequirementsAccredited law enforcement program or equivalentCertified or eligible to certify for First Aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)Resides within 50 km of the postingDemonstrates valuable teamwork and maintains positive interactions with other departments and local law enforcement agencies cooperating in matters of mutual concernPossesses sound judgment, professionalism, be autonomous and show initiativeMakes informed and timely decisions to get things doneFluency in oral and written English is mandatory, knowledge of French is considered an assetAny experience/education/skills/knowledge for these above would be considered as an assetTrainingThe incumbent receives on‑the‑job training with a Coach Officer.
