Quantum Engineering Ltd. is an established structural engineering consulting firm located in Chilliwack, BC. We are looking for a Structural Engineer‑in‑Training to join our team. The role involves working on projects from conceptual stages through to construction completion, providing versatile and in‑depth design experience within a smaller firm environment.ResponsibilitiesDesign elements of buildings and other structures in concrete, timber, steel, and cold‑form steel according to design principles and the BC Building Code under the guidance and supervision of a qualified engineer.Prepare design sketches and drawings in conjunction with a drafter and assist in the preparation of engineering drawings.Communicate with clients, including contractors, construction managers, and architects.Collaborate with engineering staff, including engineers and draftspersons.Review shop drawings.Perform site visits and field reviews under engineer guidance.Skills RequiredExcellent written and oral communication skills.Working knowledge of the BC Building Code, Part4.Previous design office experience (e.G., summer work position)
is preferred.Intuitive understanding of structural behavior.Resourcefulness in troubleshooting and ability to seek guidance.Understanding of construction techniques.Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit.Basic knowledge of structural software such as SAP2000 or RFEM (helpful but not mandatory).Positive Microsoft Excel capabilities, preferably with some VBA experience.Valid Class5 driver’s license and willingness to use personal vehicle for field reviews.QualificationsCompleted or nearing completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with structural electives.Ambitious to obtain a P.Eng. designation within a few years and willing to work under mentorship and supervision toward registration.Ability to work independently while receiving guidance from a professional engineer.BenefitsStarting wage between $33–$36 per hour, negotiable and commensurate with experience.Health Savings Account after 3 months, allowing up to $2,000 per year to be spent on approved health, dental, wellness, vision, and related expenses with full reimbursement.Prorated first‑year HSAA amount based on start date.#J-18808-Ljbffr
