Job TitleJunior Network AnalystLocationEdmonton / CalgaryRole OverviewBe part of a high‑impact team that powers the Government of Alberta’s critical network infrastructure and digital services at scale. The Technical Services Unit manages and evolves enterprise IMT infrastructure, supporting servers, networks, cloud platforms, security, and shared IT services across the province.ResponsibilitiesProvide information technology development, maintenance and support services to clients by:Monitoring core network infrastructure.Supporting the lifecycle of network services.Assisting with change implementation.Completing tasks under senior guidance.Supporting issue resolution and service improvements.Coordinating with vendors and ensuring standards.Contributing to team delivery and client service.Provide technical support for various applications by:Supporting system enhancements.Troubleshooting application and system issues.Performing routine maintenance and upgrades.Following established processes and standards.Assisting with documentation and testing.Providing user support and guidance.Collaborating with stakeholders and vendors.Provide system reporting development and support by:Supporting reporting needs and development.Maintaining and updating reports.Ensuring reporting accuracy and standards.Assist with project management processes by:Delivering tasks within timelines.Supporting planning and prioritization.Assisting with requirements and design.Supporting project coordination and vendors.Contributing to technology testing and evaluation.Staying current with emerging technologies and best practices in infrastructure, cloud, and user support.AI First Mindset– Experience with, or a robust willingness to learn, AI tools and technologies is essential for success.QualificationsA related two‑year diploma in Computer Sciences, Information Technology or a related discipline from a recognized post‑secondary institution.No experience required.EquivalenciesA related one‑year certification in computer technology or a related discipline and one year of related experience, or an industry‑recognized certification such as ISC2, may be used in place of the 1‑year certificate.AssetsThorough knowledge of computer science concepts and methodologies (software, infrastructure, programming, network and mainframe products, and systems management).Knowledge of network routing protocols specifically related to OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, as well as SDWAN technology.Experience or familiarity with routers, switches, WAPs, Excel, automation or ServiceNow.Knowledge of Government IT policies and legislation and an understanding of their application.Understanding of project management concepts and processes.Ability to work well in a team environment, take direction, mentor junior employees, and meet deadlines.Strong communication skills to explain IT concepts, consult with stakeholders, and provide guidance.Hiring InformationClosing Date: June 8, 2026 | Salary: $2,533.72 – $3,799.96 biweekly (annually $66,130 – $99,178).
