About the Role This is a hands-on field role supporting day-to-day operations and maintenance at a leading energy infrastructure organization.
The technician will work across pipeline facilities, coordinating with external contractors, responding to service calls and emergencies, and keeping critical infrastructure running safely and efficiently.
The ideal candidate brings 4 to 6 years of relevant facilities or pipeline maintenance experience, a solid grounding in health, safety, and environmental compliance, and the confidence to work with minimal direction in the field. A high school diploma or GED is the baseline education requirement; no post-secondary credential is needed.
Key Responsibilities 1.
Oversee and actively coordinate the work of external contractors in office to keep project activities on track 2.
Perform routine operating and maintenance duties across pipeline and facility assets 3.
Respond promptly to One-Call tickets, locating and marking pipelines and pipeline rights-of way 4.
Operate, calibrate, and maintain test equipment in accordance with standard procedures 5.
Execute emergency management procedures,
including preparedness planning and on-site emergency response 6.
Ensure all work tasks comply with applicable health, safety, and environmental policies, procedures, and legislation 7.
Support other technicians as needed and participate in the on-call rotation 8.
Carry out additional field tasks as assigned to meet operational requirements Required Skills & Experience 4 to 6 years of experience in facilities, pipeline, or related energy infrastructure maintenance High school diploma or GED Willingness and ability to perform field work regularly Ability to read, utilize, and maintain technical prints and drawings with minimal supervision Demonstrated knowledge of health, safety, and environmental compliance requirements Must be local to Calgary, AB or able to work on-site without relocation support Preferred Skills Prior experience coordinating or supervising external contractors Familiarity with pipeline right-of-way procedures and locate and mark processes Background in emergency response or emergency management within an industrial setting
