**Job Title: General Laborer**
**Job Description**
The General Laborer performs a variety of physically demanding tasks within a manufacturing plant, including operating hand and power tools, working with automated assembly equipment, and supporting robotic weld cells.

This role focuses on assembling products efficiently and accurately according to established procedures while following all safety protocols and workplace policies.
**Responsibilities**
Inspect and check parts for defects to ensure products meet quality standards.

Operate and tend automated assembling equipment, including robotic and fixed automation systems.

Use small hand tools such as grinders and buffing wheels to complete assembly and finishing tasks.

Identify, record, and report defects or nonconforming parts in a timely and accurate manner.

Follow all applicable safety legislation under the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and comply with all company safety policies and procedures.

Clean, organize, and prepare the work site to maintain a secure and efficient production area.

Support efficient production by following established work instructions and standard operating procedures.

Stand for extended periods while performing repetitive assembly and production tasks.

Handle and lift materials and products weighing up to 30 lbs as part of daily activities.
**Essential Skills**
Minimum of 6+ months of manufacturing or assembly experience, preferably in automotive or general manufacturing environments.

Hands-on experience operating automated assembling equipment.

Proficiency using small hand tools, including grinders and buffing wheels.

Experience performing quality inspection, including inspecting and checking parts for defects.

Ability to lift up to 30 lbs safely and repeatedly.

Ability to stand constantly while performing assembly and production tasks.

Comfort working around robotics and automated systems.

Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures and safety protocols.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
Previous experience in high-volume production or assembly environments.

Familiarity with robotic weld cells or similar automated manufacturing equipment.

Demonstrated ability to accurately document and report defects or quality issues.

Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to work rotating shifts including days, afternoons, and nights.

**Work Environment**
This position is based in a manufacturing plant that utilizes automated assembly equipment, robotic systems, and various hand and power tools such as grinders and buffing wheels.

The role involves constant standing and regular lifting of up to 30 lbs in a fast-paced production setting.

The position follows a rotating shift schedule, with initial training on the day shift for 1–2 weeks, followed by assignment to afternoons or nights.

Typical shift times are days from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., afternoons from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., and nights from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.

The environment emphasizes adherence to OHSA requirements and company safety policies, with a focus on maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work site.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Amherstburg, ON.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $19.55 - $20.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
