**Job Title: General Production Worker**
**Job Description**
This role involves working in a manufacturing plant to support glass production by loading a glass washing machine, measuring glass accurately, and handling materials safely.

You will operate a simple push-button machine, use a tape measure to verify dimensions, and perform general production and labor tasks that contribute to efficient and high-quality output.
**Responsibilities**
Load glass into the glass washing machine safely and efficiently, following established procedures.

Operate a push-button glass washing machine and related production equipment as instructed.

Use a tape measure with imperial measurements to measure and verify glass dimensions accurately.

Handle and lift glass and related materials weighing up to 50 lbs, using assisted lifting methods for heavier units.

Use basic hand tools and production tools to support general manufacturing and labor tasks.

Follow orientation and training instructions, including basic glass handling procedures, especially during the first week.

Communicate effectively in English to understand instructions, safety guidelines, and production requirements.

Maintain a clean and organized work area to support safety and efficiency.

Follow all safety protocols and plant policies related to glass handling, equipment operation, and material movement.

Collaborate with the team and follow direction from the team lead and lead hands at various stations.
**Essential Skills**
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs safely and repeatedly as part of daily tasks.

Proficiency using a tape measure with imperial measurements to measure glass accurately.

Basic general production and general labor experience in a plant or manufacturing environment.

Comfort using basic hand tools and production tools as directed.

English communication skills to follow verbal and written instructions and safety guidelines.

Willingness to operate push-button machinery and follow standard operating procedures.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
Reach forklift experience.

Overhead crane experience.

Glass installation or experience working with glass products.

Basic computer aptitude for simple production-related tasks.

Experience with CNC laser equipment or similar automated machinery.

**Work Environment**
The role is based in a glass manufacturing plant located in the deep south end of the city.

You will work in a production environment handling glass products and operating a glass washing machine, as well as using hand tools and other production equipment.

The standard shift runs Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with overtime paid after 8 hours in a day or 44 hours in a week.

New employees receive orientation and work closely with a team lead during the first day and week to learn basic glass handling procedures and station-specific tasks.

The environment is team-oriented, with defined stations that each have a lead hand to provide guidance and support.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Calgary, AB.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $19.23 - $19.23/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
