As a Recreation Therapist at Extendicare, your central responsibility will be to coordinate therapeutic recreation programs that boost the quality of life for residents. You will assess individual needs, comply with organizational standards, and create engaging activities tailored to enhance wellness.
The position also promotes resident autonomy while handling any issues or complaints that arise in the recreation department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and facilitate resident-centered recreational activities
- Conduct assessments and evaluations for residents
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations
- Create engaging monthly recreation calendars
- Assist with prospective resident tours and information
Requirements:
- Degree or diploma in related fields (e.g. Kinesiology, Gerontology)
- Three years of experience in Assisted Living or Long Term Care
- CPR/First Aid Certification
- Strong organizational and creative skills
- Proficient in electronic health records and Microsoft Office
