Hays Specialist Recruitment has partnered with a leading mining operation in Northern Ontario to recruit a Forklift Operator for a contract prospect based in Sudbury, Ontario.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced forklift operator who enjoys working in an industrial environment and is looking to gain exposure within the mining sector. The successful candidate will join a safety-focused operation that values reliability, teamwork, and a strong work ethic.

Your New Role

As a Forklift Operator, you will play a key role in supporting daily site operations by safely transporting materials, equipment, and supplies throughout the operation. You will be responsible for operating forklifts and related material handling equipment while ensuring all work is completed in accordance with company policies and site safety standards.

The position requires working in an active mining environment where physical labour is involved. Daily responsibilities include loading and unloading deliveries, moving materials to designated locations, conducting equipment inspections, maintaining accurate records, and supporting operational teams as needed. The successful candidate will be expected to follow established procedures while contributing to a productive and safe workplace.

This is a day-shift position with opportunities for overtime based on operational requirements.

What You'll Need to Succeed

To be considered for this opportunity, you will possess:

- Valid Forklift Operator Certification
- Experience operating forklifts in industrial, warehouse, construction, manufacturing, logistics, or mining environments




- Strong understanding of safe material handling practices
- Ability to perform physical labour in a demanding work environment
- Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Reliable transportation and ability to work on site in Sudbury

Preferred Qualifications

- Previous mining experience
- Experience working in underground operations
- Ontario Common Core Certification
- Experience in heavy industrial environments

Candidates with strong forklift operating experience from non-mining industries are encouraged to apply.
