Part‑Time High School Tutor – Math/Physics/Chemistry/Biology

Location: Oxford Learning Markham South, 213‑5005 Steeles Avenue East, Toronto, ON M1V 5K1
Employment Type: Part‑time
Pay: $18.00 per hour (Probationary period 90 days)
Schedule: Evenings (4 p.m. – 8 p.m., Monday‑Friday) and some Saturdays (10 a.m. – 2 p.m.)

Position Overview

Teaching and tutoring students in high‑school mathematics and science (Grades 9–12). All lessons are pre‑planned; teachers receive complete training in the Oxford Learning philosophy and methods.

Responsibilities

- Teach up to three students simultaneously at different levels.
- Deliver instruction both in‑person and online.
- Follow Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies.
- Fill in post‑lesson notes.
- Complete daily student communication updates.
- Maintain a friendly and professional manner at all times.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field.
- Strong understanding of the current Grades 9–12 math and science curriculum (including Advanced Functions, algebra, trigonometry,



calculus, vectors, physics, chemistry and biology).
- Experience teaching or tutoring at the Grade 9–12 level.
- Strong written and oral communication skills in English.
- Strong math skills and ability to guide students’ understanding.
- Ability to multitask and balance work with up to three students at a time.

Additional Requirements

- Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.
- Must be able to commute to the Markham location; relocation assistance unavailable.
- Reliability and commitment through the end of the school year, with preference for continuation into summer.
