Hays Civil Construction division is partnered with our client, a leader in Infrastructure across Canada. Due to continued growth, the company is excited to welcome aboard their current Senior Project Manager, for Major Projects, Infrastructure. Your new company The business brings extensive experience in designing, delivering and maintaining infrastructure across Canada. Due to continued growth and progression planning, the Senior Project Manager will oversee large scale projects, as well as play a key role in mentoring more junior staff. This role reports directly to the Senior Vice President, and will play a very key role in delivering projects on time, on budget and within the highest quality standards. Your new Role As the Senior Project Manager, our day-to-day will consist of the following duties: lead the full project lifecycle, from planning and design through execution and close out; develop and manage detailed project schedules, track milestones and adjust timelines to meet client and contractual requirements; oversee budgets and financial accountability, including monthly forecasting, accruals, billing and working with purchase orders; Prepare and negotiate contracts, manage change orders, and ensure scope adjustments are documented and approved; Coordinate multidisciplinary teams — engineers, field operations, estimators, subcontractors, and administration — to deliver seamless execution; Ensure compliancewith health, safety, environmental, and quality standards, including LEED documentation; Identify and mitigate risks proactively to keep projects on track; Chair regular meetings with clients, stakeholders, and senior leadership to provide transparent updates; Mentor and directproject staff,
reviewing work to ensure accuracy and excellence; Maintain comprehensive project documentation and distribute active project lists to the team; Drive innovation and sustainability, incorporating recycled materials and energy efficient practices into project delivery; Represent the business externally, building strong client relationships and reinforcing our reputation for integrity and quality. What you’ll need to Succeed To succeed as a senior project manager, you will bring a Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Construction Management or a related field; you will have extensiveMTO project experience, 10+ years; Proven success managingmulti-million-dollar demolition and infrastructure projects; Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills; Strong negotiation skills; Expertise in contracts,scheduling, budgeting, and risk management; Advanced knowledge of health, safety, and quality standards; Ability to work in an office setting and on site - frequent travel to work sites; Results driven, able tobuild strong internal and external partnership; Excellent written, verbal, listening, and presentation skills; Competent in problem-solving, team building, planning and decision-making.
