The team provides expertise to the administration and consultation services for SFU staff, faculty and retirees. Operating under People Strategies, Total Rewards Team contributes to SFU's People Plan and Equity Compass.About the RoleThe Specialist, Total Rewards provides subject matter expertise to the administration, delivery and continuous improvement of compensation, benefits and organizational design programs and services for various employee groups across the organization. The role supports the administration of employee benefits programs. It also contributes to the delivery of job evaluation, job description and reorganization services. The Specialist acts as a key resource for leaders and employees by providing guidance, consultation, information and problem resolution related to total rewards programs and practices.QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or a related discipline, skilled certification and five years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education,



training and experience.Good knowledge of best practices related to benefits administration.Good knowledge of point factor job evaluation methodologies, including the Hay Method.Good knowledge of the design and analysis of custom salary surveys in job evaluation.Good knowledge of Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), job evaluation software and standard office software applications (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).Intermediate client service skills.Intermediate skills in the use of word processing, spreadsheet and database applications.Ability to exhibit a high level of empathy, tact, diplomacy and discretion.Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a member of a team.Ability to perform calculations and record data with extremely high degree of accuracy.Ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines.Ability to work with large datasets with precise, critical attention to detail.What We OfferAt SFU, our goal is to ensure our people are valued and supported by promoting a healthy work‑life balance, professional growth and development, as well as a safe and respectful workplace.
