This will include carrying out diagnostic tests and repairs to a variety of vehicles and equipment using modern maintenance practices. This position is based primarily in our bright, clean, and well‑equipped maintenance facility; however, our mechanics may need to make road calls and perform test drives to service our local fleet.KEY JOB DUTIESPerform repairs and assigned preventive maintenance servicesPerform inspection, diagnosis and repair of electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on vehicles, loaders, tractors,



and excavatorsUtilize vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairsEstimate time and material costs on vehicle repairs and requisitions recent partsConduct safety checks on vehicles and equipmentComplete required documentation utilizing our fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair timesReview, complete or assign repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection ReportsPerform maintenance related work as requiredMaintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with company standardsPerform all work in accordance with established safety proceduresMentor our apprentices and assist with signing off on new tasks and helping to create a productive learning environment.Work with the maintenance manager to assist in being the lead on allocated shiftsREQUIREMENTSCompetency using various computer systems to record and document repairs and diagnose problemsPhysical requirements of this position include the ability to push, pull, drag, and lift items up to 50 pounds, and occasionally must work at shoulder level with equipment weighing up to 25 poundsAbility to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodationsWork hours may require overtime, weekends and/or holidays.Must be able to supply your own set of hand tools to perform basic repairsWhitecourt Transport is an equal opportunity employer and encourages applications from all qualified individuals.#J-18808-Ljbffr
