Job Summary
The controller is responsible for the company's accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls, budget support, cash flow management, and compliance activities. This role provides accurate and timely financial information to senior management and helps strengthen financial discipline, operational performance, and decision-making across the organization.Reporting Relationship
The Controller reports to the Vice President of Finance and works closely with department heads, operations, external auditors, tax advisors, and other business partners.Key Responsibilities
Oversee the accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functionsPerform month-end closing (e.G., reconciliations, prepaid expenses, accrued expenses, depreciation, etc.)Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, management reports, variance analyses, and key performance indicatorsMaintain and improve internal controls, accounting policies, procedures, and documentation to protect the organization's assets the company and reduce financial risksLead budgeting, cash flow planning, and financial analysis to support strategic and operational decision-makingProcess tax returns (e.G., sales tax) and respond to government requestsCoordinate and participate in the year-end auditSupervise and develop accounting team members, ensuring deadlines are metSupport ERP/accounting system improvementsPerform special projects,

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field5+ years of progressively responsible accounting experience in a controller, assistant controller, or manager role Accountant or similar positionStrong knowledge of financial reporting, internal controls, budgeting, cash flow management, and tax complianceAdvanced knowledge of Microsoft ExcelBilingualism in French and English is essentialExperience with Sage 300 software is preferredExperience in an industrial environment is an assetCPA designation is an assetSkills and Abilities
