This role supports uninterrupted productionin a fast-paced meat processing environment by ensuring allelectrical systems, controls, and machinery operate safely andefficiently, in compliance with electrical codes, company policies,and the collectiveagreement.KeyResponsibilitiesInstall,maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems, motors,control panels, PLCs, and productionequipmentDiagnose electrical faults andperform repairs to minimize productiondowntimePerform preventive and predictivemaintenance on electrical equipment according to scheduledmaintenance programsRead and interpretelectrical schematics, blueprints, and technicalmanualsEnsure all electrical work complieswith the Canadian Electrical Code, provincial regulations, andinternal safety standardsCompletelockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures correctly for all electricalworkRespond promptly to equipment breakdownsand emergency electrical issuesMaintainaccurate records of repairs, inspections, and preventivemaintenance activitiesMaintain a clean,organized,
and safe work areaComply with allOccupational Health and Safety (OHS) requirements and companypoliciesQualificationsRequired:CertifiedJourneyperson Electrician
(AlbertaCertificate of Qualification or interprovincial RedSeal)Minimum 2–3 years of industrialelectrical experience, preferably in a food processing ormanufacturing environmentStrong knowledge ofthe Canadian Electrical Code and provincial safetyregulationsExperience with PLCs, motorcontrols, VFDs, and industrial controlsystemsAbility to read and interpretelectrical schematics and technicaldrawingsPreferred:Experiencein a unionized industrial or food manufacturingsettingKnowledge of refrigeration and ammoniasystems (an asset)Familiarity with SCADA orbuilding automationsystemsWorkingConditionsPlantenvironment with exposure to cold temperatures, wet/dampconditions, noise, and movingmachineryStanding, walking, climbing, andworking at heights or in confined spaces asrequiredMust comply with all food safety andpersonal protective equipment (PPE)requirements
