You know exactly how you'd fix client success. Nobody's ever let you.
You've watched a client drift for three weeks and been told to focus on your other 39 accounts.
You've sat on a call, heard exactly what the client needed, and had no authority to make it happen.
You've been the person who cared the most and mattered the least.
If none of that sounds familiar, this job isn't for you. Genuinely - stop reading.
If it does, keep going.
HERE'S THE JOB
We're a US marketing agency. We run Meta ads that bring first-time homebuyer leads to mortgage teams. We're small: the founder, a media buyer, and you.
You'd own client success. All of it.
That means 8 to 12 clients. Not 40. You'd know their business, their team, their pipeline, and their name without looking it up.
It means when a client has a problem, you fix it. You go to the media buyer directly. You go to the founder directly. There's no account director to route it through, because there is no account director.
And it means the function is yours to build. We've written the playbook - how clients get onboarded, what positive reporting looks like, how to catch an account that's drifting before it cancels. What we haven't done is run it well, or made it better. That part is the job.
Bring us something better than what we've written down and we'll run yours instead.
WHY THIS ROLE EXISTS, HONESTLY
Buying a first home takes six to twelve months. So our clients pay us for months before anything closes. The work is happening - leads are arriving, pipelines are filling - but they can't see it.
They don't leave because the ads stopped working. They leave because they stopped being able to see that they're working.
Your job is making the invisible visible. That's the whole role.
LET'S TALK ABOUT THE MONEY, BECAUSE YOU'RE GOING TO ASK
$36,000-42,000 USD per year, as a contractor.
We know that's under what a senior account manager makes in Toronto or Vancouver. We're three people.
We're not going to pretend otherwise or dress it up.
What we're offering instead is the thing a bigger salary usually can't buy you at a bigger agency: a book small enough to do the job properly, the authority to fix what's actually broken, and a function that becomes yours to run rather than a seat you fill.
If compensation is the most important thing on your list right now, take the bigger offer. Genuinely - no hard feelings, and we'd make the same call.
If what you actually want is to stop being a seat, keep reading.
WHAT WE'RE NOT
We're not an agency you'll get lost in. No timesheets. No utilization targets. No client you've never spoken to. No layer of people between you and the decisions.
We're not disorganized. The playbook exists and you get it on day one, along with client history, reporting standards, and a 30-day ramp. "You own it" does not mean "figure it out alone."
We're not big, and we're not pretending to be. There are three of us. If you want a career ladder and a training department, we don't have those. What we have is the actual work and the authority to do it properly.
THE DETAILS
- Full-time, remote, based in Canada
- Standard North American business hours
- $36,000-42,000 USD per year, paid monthly as an independent contractor
- You report to the founder. That's the whole org chart
WHAT YOU NEED
- 2+ years managing client relationships at a marketing agency, or client-facing in-house
- Experience with clients in a long-cycle industry - legal, solar, home services, financial services, real estate, anything where results take months to arrive
- Comfort with paid-ads numbers:
cost per lead, conversion rate, funnel stages
- The ability to run a call with a frustrated US business owner and keep the relationship intact
Mortgage experience is a bonus, not a requirement. We'll teach you mortgages. We can't teach you how to handle people.
TO APPLY - TWO THINGS
1. A 1-3 minute video. Tell us about a time a client was frustrated or losing confidence, and what you did about it. Phone camera is fine. We're listening to how you talk about that client, not to your production quality.
Record it however is easiest - Loom, your phone, whatever you already use. Upload it to Loom, Google Drive, or YouTube (unlisted), then set the sharing so anyone with the link can view it, and paste that link into the application question below. If we can't open it, we can't review you.
2. Your resume.
Applications without the video don't get read. That's not a test of effort - this is a talking job, and we need to hear you talk.
WHAT HAPPENS NEXT
We review recordings, send a short personality assessment, then two 20-minute calls. Start to finish, about a week. We move fast.
PS - our selfish reason, stated plainly: our clients leave sooner than they should, and it's because nobody is doing this job. If you do it well, we grow, and this becomes your department to run. That's the deal.
Pay: $50,000.00-$58,000.00 per year
