Our client is an established Windsor-Essex tool and mold manufacturer specializing in precision machining and the production of complex tooling for demanding applications.

They are looking for an experienced CNC Boring Mill Operator / Programmer who wants more than a button-pushing role. This position is ideal for a skilled machinist who is comfortable taking ownership of the machining process — setup, programming, operation, inspection and basic machine maintenance.

The Role

As the CNC Boring Mill Operator / Programmer, you will be responsible for machining precision components while managing the process from initial setup through final inspection.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Setting up, programming and operating a Kuraki KRK 15-VDX CNC Boring Mill
- Working with a Straddle Planer Controller
- Performing 4-axis machining
- Creating, modifying and optimizing CNC programs using PowerMill software
- Setting up tooling, fixtures and workpieces for machining operations
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints and specifications
- Establishing machining sequences, tooling requirements, speeds and feeds




- Performing offsets and program adjustments as required
- Monitoring machining operations and making corrections to maintain accuracy
- Performing in-process and final quality-control inspections
- Using precision measuring equipment to verify dimensions and tolerances
- Troubleshooting machining, tooling and setup issues
- Performing routine and preventative machine maintenance
- Maintaining a clean, safe and organized work area
- Taking ownership of part quality from setup through completion

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with CNC boring mills or similar large-format CNC machining equipment and be capable of independently setting up and machining precision components.

We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in:

- CNC boring mill operation
- CNC machine setup
- CNC programming
- 4-axis machining
- PowerMill
- Kuraki or comparable horizontal boring mills
- Tool and mold manufacturing
- Large-component or precision machining
- Reading complex engineering drawings
- Precision measurement and quality inspection
- Machine troubleshooting and preventative maintenance

Experience with the exact Kuraki machine is an asset, but candidates with robust experience on comparable CNC boring mills are encouraged to apply.
