Job Description
What is the opportunity?
Reporting to the Associate Director, RBCCM Cash Management, and a key contact for Capital Market’s Business, Personal & Commercial Banking, Correspondent Banks and RBCFG Units. This position is responsible for the calculation, monitoring and funding of RBC’s U.S. Dollar Nostro accounts (flows totaling up to $500 bio per day). The incumbent works closely with I&TS; Funding and Liquidity Desk providing current cash positions throughout the day. Through ongoing training initiatives and continuous self- development, the incumbent will work in an efficient / effective cross-functional team to ensure quality service is provided to both internal and external clients. A subject matter expert for all funding / liquidity and payment inquiries for both Retail and Capital Markets.
What will you do?
Cash Management
- Responsible for the monitoring of cash flows as they relate to trades, transactions and payments required for accurate positioning, forecasting and funding of Nostro accounts under prescribed guidelines and procedures,
- Applies solid knowledge of Treasury/Retail Operations, its procedures, methods and systems (primarily CLM, IntelliMatch, Rimms, Rats, Bess, Prowide) to effectively calculate and manages the banks current, overnight and forward positions.
- Works closely with the Capital Markets Treasury Funding and Liquidity Desk ensuring that the transactions and cash balances are reconciled throughout the day and provides accurate instructions to square the USD position at end of day.
- Check that the funds transferred to/from the FED account daily are correct and the related trades are booked
- Identify cash flow errors or potential value at risk to the Bank and manage to resolution / escalate to management.
- Display good judgment and decision-making skills when monitoring and forecasting cash flows.
Client Service (Internal)
- Liaise with internal clients and correspondent banks to set-up and monitor the execution of large time-sensitive payments (required for M&A; activity for example)
- Deliver high-quality SME support to Retail and Capital Markets teams in relation to projects and ad hoc requests involving the funding and liquidity of the Nostro accounts.
- Effectively interact with Account Managers, Branches, Trading /Operations staff and correspondent banks in the handling and resolution of inquiries and discrepancies
- Books and/or amends USD Libor Loans and processes breakage fees as required.
Teamwork and Administration
- Display a robust commitment to teamwork; open two-way communication and good staff morale.
- Support the process of creating, updating and maintaining desk procedures.
- Strict adherence to policies and regulatory requirements is observed
- Identify departmental system or process changes to streamline and/or improve service and efficiency
- Identify service gaps provided by Cash Management to internal clients, as well as service gaps provided to Cash Management from correspondent banks making suggestions to management for improvement.
- Responsible for personal development and cross-training coordination / participation as identified through ongoing business / department needs analysis.
- Demonstrates flexibility to assume project work outside of the day-to-day cash management process as determined by management.

- Working knowledge of RBC Applications i.e. BESS, Prowide
- Computer literacy – i.e. Knowledge of PC’s and Microsoft – related software
- Ability to embrace organizational change at an individual and team level
- Demonstrates analytical and problem-solving skills
- Conceptual thinking
- Flexible to work Statutory Holidays (required to work CAD holidays when US is open)
- Versatile to work overtime as required
Non-standard working hours (10:30am-7pm)
