We are looking for a Scaffold Manager who can take ownership of our Scaffold Division from opportunity through execution. This is a leadership role for someone who understands the scaffold industry, can build strong teams and client relationships, and knows how to balance estimating, manpower, materials, project execution, and financial performance.

The Opportunity

The Scaffold Manager is responsible for leading, managing, and growing Breck's Scaffold Division. You'll maintain a clear understanding of what work is coming, what is currently underway, and whether the division has the people, material, equipment, and resources required to deliver successfully.

You'll lead Forepeople and key employees who execute the work in the field while working closely with the Yard Manager, Operations Manager, Project teams, Estimating, Accounts, and other departments to ensure the division operates effectively.

You'll be involved throughout the entire lifecycle of scaffold work, from identifying an opportunity and building the estimate to planning the project, assigning crews, managing materials, supporting execution, billing the work, and strengthening the client relationship for the next opportunity.

What You'll Lead:

Estimating & Bidding

You'll take ownership of scaffold opportunities from the time they are received until the work is awarded or lost.

You'll:

- Complete scaffold estimates, site visits, and scope reviews
- Develop estimates that account for labour, material, travel, equipment, engineering, and other project costs
- Track active bids and follow up on outstanding quotations
- Maintain visibility of upcoming opportunities through the Bid Tracker
- Coordinate the handoff of awarded work to the employees responsible for project execution
- Use previous project results to strengthen future estimating and pricing decisions

People & Crew Leadership

A successful scaffold operation starts with having the right people in the right place.

You'll:

- Forecast workforce requirements based on current and upcoming work
- Assign Foreperson and crews to projects
- Coordinate the hiring of additional scaffolders when required
- Identify employees with leadership potential
- Develop talented scaffolders into future Foremen
- Ensure field leadership understands project expectations before work begins





Project Planning & Execution

You'll make sure scaffold projects are properly planned before mobilization and supported throughout execution.

You'll:

- Develop execution plans for larger or more complex projects
- Plan workforce, scaffold material, equipment, engineering, and site requirements
- Ensure Forepeople clearly understand project scope before work begins
- Monitor active projects and help resolve issues that cannot be handled by the field team
- Ensure scope changes and extra work are identified, documented, and communicated
- Track scaffolds using Avontus
- Monitor progress on larger projects and adjust plans when required

Scaffold Inventory & Material Planning

You'll know what scaffold material Breck owns, where it is, what's currently committed, and what is available for upcoming work.

You'll:

- Own the day-to-day use and accuracy of the scaffold inventory system
- Monitor scaffold material located in the yard, on jobsites, and at other branches
- Forecast material requirements for upcoming work
- Identify shortages before they become project problems
- Work closely with the Yard Manager and Operations Manager on inventory counts, material movement, and yard improvements

Rentals & Material Sales

Our Scaffold Division also supports clients through scaffold rentals and material sales.

You'll:

- Prepare quotations for scaffold rentals and material sales
- Ensure rental material is accurately tracked from dispatch through return
- Address missing, damaged, or overdue rental material
- Maintain strong relationships with recurring rental and material clients

Business Development & Division Growth

You'll be expected to look ahead, not simply wait for the next invitation to bid.

You'll:

- Maintain relationships with existing clients and stay informed about upcoming work
- Develop relationships with new clients who regularly require scaffold services
- Proactively identify projects and opportunities
- Help position Breck for new scaffold work
- Track division performance
- Use lessons and results from previous projects to improve estimating, planning, and execution

Billing & Financial Performance

Winning and completing work is only part of running a successful division. You'll also help ensure Breck captures and bills the work we've performed.

You'll:

- Regularly review project billing and confirm completed work is being billed
- Ensure field tickets, change orders, extra work, rental charges, and supporting documentation are collected
- Provide Accounts with clear information when scope, rates, quantities, or billing requirements change
- Follow up on outstanding documentation that may delay billing




- Review project costs and billing throughout execution so issues are identified early
- Monitor larger projects against planned progress and completion
- Use project data to evaluate and improve scaffold pricing

What We're Looking For:

We're looking for an experienced scaffold professional who understands both the field and the business behind the field.

You'll be a strong fit if you:

- Have 10+ years experience in industrial scaffolding, including progressively responsible leadership experience
- Understand scaffold estimating, planning, erection and dismantling requirements, manpower, and material needs
- Can confidently lead Forepeople, crews, and multiple active projects
- Understand how labour productivity, material utilization, equipment, travel, and project planning affect job performance
- Are comfortable reviewing project costs, billing information, change orders, and extra work
- Can build and maintain strong relationships with clients
- Are proactive and able to identify potential work and business opportunities
- Are organized and capable of managing competing project priorities
- Communicate effectively with field employees, clients, management, and internal departments
- Are comfortable using technology and project tracking systems
- Have experience with Avontus or similar scaffold management software, or are willing to learn
- Hold a valid Class 5 Driver's Licence
- Can obtain pre-access clearance
- Journey Person Scaffolding Certificate
- Leadership or Supervisory Certificate
- Are willing and able to travel to active jobsites as required
