An established Canadian emissions reduction organization is seeking an experienced Field Sales Representative to support continued growth across Alberta’s oil and gas sector.
The organization provides specialized equipment, technology, and services that help energy producers improve field operations, increase equipment reliability, reduce emissions, and meet evolving environmental requirements. Its solutions include field-deployed pumping, compressed air, power and emissions-reduction equipment, along with related environmental and carbon-management services.
This is a field-focused sales role suited to someone who knows Alberta’s oil and gas industry, enjoys being in front of customers, and can turn strong industry relationships into long-term business.
The Opportunity:
Reporting to the Business Development Manager, the Field Sales Representative will be responsible for developing new business and expanding existing customer relationships throughout Alberta.
Rather than being primarily office-based, this position will spend significant time in the field meeting with customers, visiting operating areas and wellsites, identifying opportunities, and building relationships with operations and procurement personnel.
The position can be based in Edmonton, Red Deer or Grande Prairie and offers a competitive base salary plus commission, rewarding both relationship development and revenue generation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain relationships with oil and gas producers, field operations personnel, procurement teams, and other key decision-makers.
- Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities throughout Alberta.
- Regularly visit customer offices, field locations, and operating areas to understand operational requirements and identify potential solutions.
- Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified sales opportunities.
- Leverage existing industry relationships while continuously developing new contacts and customers.
- Present equipment, technology, and service solutions that address customer operational, reliability, emissions-reduction, and environmental objectives.
- Coordinate pricing, proposals, quotations, and commercial discussions with internal operational and leadership teams.
- Follow opportunities from initial customer contact through proposal, negotiation, award, and implementation.
- Maintain regular contact with existing customers to identify additional opportunities and support long-term account growth.
- Represent the organization at industry events, trade shows, conferences, and customer functions.
- Provide market intelligence regarding competitor activity, customer needs, industry developments, and emerging opportunities.
- Maintain accurate records of customer activity, sales opportunities, forecasts, and results.
Role Requirements:
- 10+ years of sales, business development, operations, or related experience within oil and gas, energy services, industrial equipment, or a related sector.
- Demonstrated ability to generate new business and develop long-term customer relationships.
- Established network within Alberta's oil and gas industry is a strong asset.
- Solid understanding of field operations and the needs of oil and gas producers.
- Experience selling equipment, technology,
environmental solutions, or field services is an asset.
- Knowledge of emissions-reduction technologies, methane reduction, carbon markets, or related environmental solutions is considered an asset.
- Strong interpersonal, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-management skills.
- Self-motivated, entrepreneurial, and comfortable managing a territory with a high degree of autonomy.
- Ability and willingness to travel regularly throughout Alberta.
- Post-secondary education in Business, Engineering, or a related discipline is an asset; equivalent industry experience will be considered.
Compensation & Work Environment:
This position offers a competitive base salary plus performance-based commission, providing income stability while creating meaningful upside for successful business development and revenue growth.
The successful candidate can be based in Edmonton, Red Deer or Grande Prairie and should expect regular travel throughout their assigned territory for customer meetings, field visits, industry events, and business development activities.
The role provides considerable independence and is well suited to someone who prefers spending time in the field and with customers rather than behind a desk.
Confidentiality:
This recruitment process is being conducted on a confidential basis. Additional information regarding the organization, its products and services, compensation structure, and growth plans will be shared with qualified candidates as they progress through the recruitment process.
Applications can be submitted directly through Indeed. We thank all applicants for their interest; however, only candidates selected for further consideration will be contacted.
