Vancouver Island Whale Watch

Canada

Vancouver Island Whale Watch offers sustainable whale watching aboard our open zodiac-style boats Keta & Cascadia, and our semi-covered vessel Kula. We offer daily tours (3-5 hours), departing from Nanaimo harbour. Our vessels each operate with two crew; a captain and a marine naturalist.

Our marine naturalists have a background in biology, a deep respect for local wildlife, and a knowledge of current marine conservation initiatives. Most of all, they have a passion for sharing the diversity of this coast with others.

As a marine naturalist with VIWW, you’ll take our guests through the Salish Sea ecosystem to see whales and other marine life in their natural habitat. You’ll also collect data from every whale encounter to share with local researchers and the public.

- Proactively informing and answering guest questions.

- Publishing content to subscribers on VIWW’s communication channels - mostly blogging and social media.
- Checking guests in before and after the tours.
- Answering phones/emails and taking bookings.
- Assisting in regular business operations and assigned tasks.

We are looking for personable people who are dynamic and organized, have excellent communication skills, and have a strong passion for marine conservation.
