Job Overview
We are in active search for a skilled CAD Designer (INVENTOR Specialist) to join our clients in house design and engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating detailed technical drawings and 3D models using industry-standard CAD software Inventor Version 23. This role involves collaborating with engineers, clients, and production professionals to develop precise schematics and drafting plans for various custom metal fabricated projects. A strong understanding of mechanical, structural and machinery processes, welding, schematic development, and 2D / 3D animation is highly desirable. The CAD Designer will play a crucial role in translating conceptual ideas into accurate visual representations that facilitate project execution and communication.
This is an full time permanent role that works in person at our client office and fabrication / manufacturing facility.
Responsibilities
- Develop detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings using software such as Inventor, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and SolidWorks.
- Create schematics, as built designs, concept designs, manufacturing plans, and technical documentation aligned with project specifications for large custom projects focused on custom metal fabricated solutions.
- Collaborate with project teams to interpret design requirements and produce accurate models and drawings
- Assist in the development of manufacturing documentation and presentation materials, including 2D / 3D animations when needed
- Experience creating the Bill of Materials and Cut List are strong assets
- Ensure all designs adhere to industry standards, safety regulations, and client specifications
- Revise drawings based on feedback from engineers, architects, or clients to meet project deadlines
- Maintain organized digital files of all CAD projects for easy access and version control
Experience
- Proven experience with CAD software such as Inventor version 23 is a MUST, AutoCAD, SketchUp, or SolidWorks are a plus if in addition to Inventor.
- Strong background in drafting, schematics development, and custom fabrication planning and documentation
- Knowledge of civil / mechanical engineering or processes highly preferred
- Ability to interpret technical sketches and translate them into precise digital models
- Prior experience working on custom fabricated metal projects or machinery projects is advantageous
- Excellent attention to detail combined with strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
