Club 1177 is looking for security. This casual, part time position is great for anyone with a background in security, or with a valid BC security license looking to gain experience. You will be the first point of contact for our amazing patrons while they enjoy a night out on the town. You will check identification, collect cover charge, ensure compliance with liquor laws, and manage the safety of customers and staff.

Responsibilities
- Manage entry and exit points by examining two pieces of government ID and operating an ID scanner, making sure customers are 19+ and have no current bans from any nightclubs.
- Collect cover charge and give correct change.
- Ensure compliance with liquor laws.
- Clearly communicate any issues with management and emergency services.
- Conduct thorough surveillance using CCTV. Write incident reports. Computer literacy is a must.
- Ability to remain alert and vigilant.
- Physical ability to stand for long periods and remain outside in various weather conditions.
- Be willing to remove patrons from the property and de-escalate high-conflict situations.
- Assist other staff members as needed.
Skills
- Strong customer service skills
- Basic security training preferred
- Basic knowledge of BC liquor laws an asset.
- Be willing to work Friday and Saturday nights regularly.
Pay: From $18.25 per hour
Expected hours: 4.0 – 16.0 per week
