The analyst will participate in the development, maintenance, and enhancement of data management solutions supporting the Treasury Risk Management and Capital Markets team. The analyst, Market Risk, assists in evaluating financial products and preparing and developing reports.
He will act as an SQL Developer responsible for designing and optimizing queries, reports, and automation processes, while also playing a key liaison role between business users and Information Technology teams across various projects.
The candidate will be responsible for understanding business needs, translating them into functional and technical requirements, monitoring requests and project deliverables, and contributing to the implementation of solutions that support organizational objectives.
Responsibilities
- Perform, on a daily basis, rigorous market risks analyses and valuations for Treasury and Capital Markets products.
- Gather, compile and verify the accuracy of the market data and data taken from various source systems. Analyze the information gathered to ensure the quality of the management information and clarify variances.
- Develop, optimize, and maintain data management and analytics solutions using SQL, VBA, and other analytical tools.
- Ensure the integrity, quality, and governance of data used in risk management activities.
- Perform data validation, analysis, and quality monitoring, while contributing to the identification and resolution of data issues.
- Design and produce dashboards, reports, and management information tools to support business decision-making.
- Automate and enhance operational processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and overall performance.
- Analyze and monitor market risk, counterparty risk, and Treasury and Capital Markets activities through reporting and analytical tools.
- Collaborate with business partners to understand requirements, document needs, and translate them into functional solutions.
- Participate in strategic projects and continuous improvement initiatives that support risk management and organizational performance.
- Contribute to the enhancement of risk management frameworks, processes, controls, and tools.
- Build and maintain strong collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or a related field.
- Up to two years of relevant experience.
- Good knowledge of SQL programming and database querying.
- Proficiency in advanced Microsoft Excel and VBA development.
- Understanding of relational database concepts and structures.
- Experience with Power BI is considered an asset.
- Demonstrates curiosity, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills.
- Proficiency in English and French, spoken and written*
