Shop Foreman

Phillips Bros Excavating, a family owned and operated company that has been proudly serving the construction industry for over 30 years. The Shop Foreman is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the shop floor, ensuring productivity, quality, safety, and efficiency in all tasks. This role involves supervising technicians, coordinating workloads, maintaining equipment, and ensuring adherence to company policies and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

· Supervise and coordinate the activities of shop personnel, including technicians, mechanics, and welders.

· Assign tasks, set priorities, and monitor progress to ensure timely and accurate completion of work.

· Ensure all work is performed according to safety guidelines and quality standards.

· Troubleshoot issues and provide technical guidance and support to team members.

· Maintain inventory of tools, materials, and supplies and order as necessary.

· Coordinate maintenance and repairs for shop equipment.

· Enforce company policies, procedures, and discipline when necessary.





· Conduct regular inspections and quality checks of completed work.

· Train recent employees and provide ongoing development for current staff.

Requirements:

· Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in a shop or production environment, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory role.

· Strong knowledge of shop tools, machinery, and safety procedures.

· Ability to work and adapt to changing environments and timelines.

· Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.

· Proficient with basic computer applications (e.g., MS Office, inventory software).
