Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, ensuring accurate account reconciliation, and supporting various accounting functions using leading software tools.
Duties
1.Parent company:
- Supervise the day-to-day accounting duties, including AR, AP, bank reconciliations, etc.
- Review employee reimbursement.
- Prepare and file quarterly GST returns.
- Assist in month-end financial and management report preparation.
- Prepare the consolidated financial statements for all companies in the group.
- Evaluate and improve existing accounting and internal control systems.
- Oversee the tax and regulatory reporting and compliance.
2.Subsidiaries
- Review monthly sales reconciliation and weekly cash transactions.
- Review and approve account payable transactions.
- Review and approve payroll.
- Prepare and handle intercompany transactions/billings among the parent company and subsidiaries.
- Supervise work from junior staff and provide support as needed.
- Manage chart of accounts and ensure accuracy.
- Oversee the month-end close cycle by executing and coordinating staff activities to produce timely financial statements.
- Prepare regulatory filings (GST, PST, WCB, EHT etc.)
- Review regular account analysis, G/L and bank reconciliations.
- Prepare journal entries for all related accounting functions as appropriate.
- Identify and implement areas for process improvement and increased efficiency.
- Hire, train, supervise and support accounting staff.
- Other tasks assigned by Controller.
Qualifications
- CPA designation is preferred
- At least 5 years of being a senior supervising the whole accounting team.
- Full cycle accounting experience
- Knowledge and experience in NetSuite are an advantage.
- Solid knowledge of computer systems and demonstrated competence in Microsoft Office applications with an advanced working knowledge of Excel.
- Ability to meet deadlines and produce accurate and timely results.
- Excellent command of written and verbal English.

Pay: $52,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
