We are currently looking for an EDI Programmer located in Brampton, Ontario. This role will be responsible for developing, maintaining, supporting, and improving Speedy Transport's EDI integrations and related enterprise applications.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, test and troubleshoot EDI integrations with customers, carriers, vendors and third-party partners.
- Create and maintain EDI mappings using Altova MapForce.
- Work with ANSI X12, XML, JSON, CSV and flat-file data formats.
- Develop and maintain applications using C# and .NET.
- Develop APIs, services, automated processes and system integrations supporting transportation operations.
- Develop and maintain SQL queries, stored procedures, views and database processes.
- Integrate applications with Microsoft SQL Server and other databases.
- Troubleshoot EDI transactions, application issues, database problems and data discrepancies.
- Monitor and support production integrations and resolve issues affecting business operations.
- Work with customers and internal teams during EDI implementations, testing, certification and deployment.
- Support integrations involving ERP, transportation management, shipment tracking, billing and other operational systems.
- Translate business and customer requirements into technical solutions.
- Document EDI mappings,
business rules, technical solutions and integration processes.
- Identify opportunities to automate processes and improve system reliability and efficiency.
Qualifications:
- 3–5 years of experience in software development, EDI development, systems integration or a related field.
- Strong hands-on experience with C# and .NET.
- Strong SQL and relational database skills, preferably Microsoft SQL Server.
- Experience developing, maintaining or troubleshooting EDI integrations.
- Experience working with ANSI X12, XML, JSON, CSV and flat files.
- Experience with REST APIs, web services or system integrations.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to investigate issues across applications, databases and integrated systems.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with business-critical data.
- Ability to communicate effectively with technical teams, customers and business stakeholders.
- Diploma or degree in Computer Science, Software Development, Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience with Altova MapForce is strongly preferred.
- Experience in trucking, transportation, logistics, LTL, freight or supply chain is preferred.
- Knowledge of transportation EDI transactions such as 204, 210, 214 and 990 is an asset.
- Experience with ERP/TMS systems, SFTP, MongoDB and Git is an asset.
