Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks with AZ licensing to transport freight within Ottawa and surrounding areas.
- Load and unload cargo using forklifts and other heavy equipment, ensuring proper handling and securement of freight.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after trips, performing basic automotive repairs or reporting issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation, including manifests, logs, and delivery receipts.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and team members to coordinate schedules and resolve any issues.
- Follow all safety protocols, traffic laws,
and company policies to ensure a secure working environment.
- Assist with warehouse duties such as forklift operation and freight organization when necessary.
Requirements
- Valid AZ commercial driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience in commercial driving and heavy equipment operation.
- Knowledge of freight handling procedures and safety regulations.
- Basic automotive repair skills to troubleshoot minor vehicle issues on the road.
- Strong communication skills and a proactive attitude towards safety and customer service.
- Physical ability to lift heavy freight, perform repetitive tasks, and work in various weather conditions.
