Position Summary

The Inspector assesses commercial flat roofing systems and collects accurate field data for clear, client-ready roof condition reports. This role reviews leak and work history, identifies maintenance, repair, or replacement needs, verifies completed work, and coordinates closely with Sales, Administration, and Operations.

Key Responsibilities

Review leak and work history related to inspection locations.

Inspect commercial flat roofing systems to determine condition, life expectancy, and required maintenance, repair, or replacement.

Provide pricing for maintenance, repair, and replacement requirements.

Update existing drawings and submit required changes to the draftsperson.

Create clear roof sketches for recent inspection locations and submit them to the draftsperson.

Verify completed work, ensuring projects have executed to manufacturer and MJ’s standards.

Work with Sales and Administration to deliver accurate roof condition reports on time.

Review approved work and provide accurate handoff details for Operations.

Assist Operations with leak investigation and repair during high volume periods.

Mentor field teams and provide constructive feedback based on inspection findings.

Meet all reporting and project deadlines.

Qualifications

Exceptional knowledge of flat roof systems and roofing elements.





Strong organizational and time management skills.

Problem-solving and critical-thinking ability.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software.

Experience with digital inspection reports, photos, notes, and cloud-based file management preferred.
