At Brookes & Co. LLP CPA, we have been operating our public practice accounting firm in uptown New Westminster since 1976 (50 years). Our 4-person team provides year-end financial statements under Compilation and Review Engagements, personal and corporate income tax returns, and strategic tax planning. We also provide full bookkeeping services to many small to medium-size businesses. Job Summary
We are seeking an intermediate bookkeeper who will provide full cycle bookkeeping services to a wide variety of business clients, using a range of accounting software. This position is permanent and part time with the opportunity to grow, if desired. This is an in-person position ... not remote.
Duties
- Post all transactions and year-end adjusting journal entries.
- Reconcile bank and credit card statements.
- Prepare payrolls and remittances.
- Prepare and file GST, PST, and WCB returns.
- Maintain subsidiary ledgers for accounts receivable and account payable.
- Internal administrative duties, as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
- 3+ years experience bookkeeping in public practice environments.
- Recent experience using Sage, QuickBooks, Caseware, and Excel software.
- Bookkeeping or accounting certificate, preferred but not essential.
- Complete fluency, both verbal and written, due to direct contact with clients, taxing authorities, and others.
