Overview

The Container Guy is looking for an experienced Journeyperson Electrician to join our team in a hands-on maintenance-focused role. We are looking for a senior-level electrician with strong practical knowledge, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work independently.
This position is ideal for someone with extensive experience in electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and facility/shop equipment, rather than someone focused primarily on new construction or residential installations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting electrical systems throughout our shop, yard, and facilities, as well as supporting electrical requirements for equipment and container modification projects.

Responsibilities

- Perform electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and installations throughout the facility, shop, and yard.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical issues efficiently and safely.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems, motors, controls, wiring, switches, breakers, and other components.
- Perform preventive and corrective electrical maintenance on shop and facility equipment.
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment as required.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Identify potential electrical issues and recommend appropriate repairs or improvements.
- Work with other members of the maintenance, shop,



and operations teams to support ongoing projects.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with applicable electrical codes, regulations, and safety standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Perform other electrical and maintenance-related duties as required.

Qualifications & Experience

- Journeyperson Electrician certification is required.
- Minimum 5 years of proven, hands-on electrical experience.
- Thorough knowledge and practical application of the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC).
- Strong background in industrial, commercial, facility, or maintenance electrical work.
- Extensive troubleshooting and problem-solving experience.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in the field.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, controls, and equipment.
- Ability to read electrical drawings and schematics.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Valid driver's licence.
- Previous experience working in a shop, manufacturing, industrial, or maintenance environment is strongly preferred.

What We Are Looking For
We are looking for a senior, experienced electrician who can bring a high level of practical knowledge to the team. The ideal candidate is someone who can walk into an electrical problem, diagnose the issue, determine the appropriate solution, and complete the repair safely and efficiently with minimal supervision.

Pay: $35.00-$45.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
