Job Title: Packaging Line Operator

Job Summary: We are hiring a Packaging Line Operator to work with our client in the cannabis manufacturing and co-packing industry. The Packaging Line Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining packaging equipment while ensuring production schedules, quality standards, and safety requirements are met. This role also supports inventory management, equipment maintenance, waste reduction, and the training and supervision of Production team members in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Job Type: Full-time, permanent.

Job Location: North York, ON

Shift Structure: Day shift. Right now, the facility runs Monday to Thursday 8AM to 6:30PM. However, the purpose of having this position is that the successful candidate will allow them to run 5+ days, instead of the current 4 days.

Compensation Structure: $22.00-$23.00 per hour (depending on experience)

Responsibilities:

- Operate and maintain packaging and production equipment to meet daily production schedules and company targets.
- Execute weekly manufacturing and packaging schedules while maintaining accurate production and order records.
- Monitor product quality and packaging standards, identify inconsistencies, and work with the Quality team to resolve issues.
- Follow and maintain proper cleaning, sanitation, housekeeping, and food safety procedures.
- Monitor inventory levels, participate in cycle counts, investigate discrepancies, and ensure adequate raw materials and packaging supplies are available.
- Track production waste and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and minimize waste.




- Perform basic equipment troubleshooting, minor repairs, and preventative maintenance to minimize downtime.
- Maintain accurate records of production, quality, and equipment maintenance activities.
- Assist with supervising, training, and guiding Production team members while supporting efficient labour allocation and minimizing overtime.
- Support the Production Manager and Quality team with day-to-day production operations and other assigned duties.

Skills & Qualifications

- Experience in beverage manufacturing, food production, packaging, or a similar production environment.
- Knowledge of beverage manufacturing processes and cleaning/sanitation procedures.
- Knowledge of applicable cannabis regulations and quality requirements an asset
- Basic mechanical/equipment maintenance and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong attention to quality, accuracy, and production standards.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
- Solid verbal and written communication skills.
- Sound decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
- Results-driven with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
- Ability to perform physical duties including prolonged standing/walking, repetitive bending, and lifting 30–50 lbs.
- Comfortable working in a production environment with noise, temperature fluctuations, dust/dirt, and exposure to chemicals.
