Title: Child and Youth facilitator for the Beausejour Family Crisis Resource Centre Inc./The Courage Centre
Please note that this position is in Shediac, New Brunswick
As the Child and Youth facilitator, you will work with your team members to deliver the evidence-based PACIS program for children/youth and parents in the south-east NB region. This program involves Group facilitation which will be delivered on some evenings. This program entails working with justice-involved youth that engaged in sexual harm. The PACIS program works to build the understanding and skills they need to engage in healthy interpersonal relationships into adulthood. If you want to make a lasting difference in the lives of children/youth (ages 12-17) and their parents (or guardians) in your community, this is the position for you!
Number of positions: 1 full-time
Qualifications:
- A University degree or college diploma (or in progress) in Social sciences, Social Work, Psychology, Early Childhood Education, Child and Youth Care or a related discipline.
- Exceptional communication skills, both orally and in writing.
- Experience working with children, adolescents, families and groups, and familiarity with associated systems (judicial system, schools, community agencies) would be an asset.
- Strong organizational skills and details oriented.
- Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and videoconferencing systems, such as Zoom, Webex andor Microsoft Teams.
- Ability to work in a highly distractible environment, to multitask and be sensitive to the uniqueness and demands of a non-profit agency.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a energetic environment.
- Ability to work in a respectful manner with individuals from diverse backgrounds and experiences.
- Position involves topics of a sensitive nature including intimate partner violence and sexual violence which requires effective self-care and professional resilience.
- Bilingual
- Current and valid Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check.
- Must be legally able to work in Canada.
Key Responsibilities:
- Delivers children/youth and parents group interventions
- Actively participates in case management process for clients including case management activities and case review meetings
- Maintain client records
- May provide supervision to interns, students and/or volunteer
Salary and Conditions
- The salary is negotiable based on experience.
- This is a full-time in-person position (36.25 hrs/week)
- Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
- This position involves some evenings for direct group delivery/facilitation of the children/youth and parents program.
