The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager – Traffic and Transportation to lead and manage multidisciplinary design teams on land development projects. This senior leadership role involves independently delivering transportation impact studies and assessments, parking justification reports, functional design studies, and site design reviews, while working with minimal technical oversight.

The successful candidate will mentor and support junior staff, review technical work, and assist with staffing decisions, while helping shape project outcomes and contribute to the firm’s strategic growth. The role also offers opportunities to further develop project management capabilities and participate in business development and operational initiatives. Advanced proficiency in Trafficware Synchro/SimTraffic, Transoft AutoTURN, and Microsoft Office 365 is required, along with a solid understanding of municipal and provincial transportation standards. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and manage traffic and transportation design teams
- Oversee the delivery of multiple projects, ensuring quality, schedule, and financial performance
- Act as a primary client liaison on assigned projects
- Prepare and contribute to proposals and business development initiatives
- Mentor junior and intermediate staff




- Implement company tools, standards, QA/QC processes, and best practices
- Track project financial performance, including budgets, invoicing, and key metrics
- Support annual business planning and performance evaluations
- Represent the company at industry events and support business development initiatives

Qualifications & Experience

- Proven experience as a Project Manager in traffic engineering and/or transportation planning.
- Professional designation (P.Eng. or C.E.T.) preferred
- 10+ years of experience with a transportation planning and traffic engineering consulting firm or municipal/provincial government engineering agency.
- Demonstrated leadership and people management experience
- Strong client-facing, communication, and proposal-writing skills
- Experience managing project finances and deliverables
- Ability to work independently in a remote/hybrid environment
- Valid Ontario Class G driver’s licence and access to a personal vehicle for work-related travel

Work Environment

- Hybrid work model with remote work flexibility
- Future in-office attendance required once office space is established in the GTA
- Use of personal vehicle required (mileage reimbursed)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $95,000.00-$125,000.00 per year
