Prep / Line Cook - C'est Tout (Downtown Smiths Falls)

$19-$21/hour | Daytime kitchen; occasional evening events | Monday prep shift + Tuesday - Saturday

C'est Tout is a scratch-made bakery and café on Beckwith Street. Everything starts from raw ingredients - sauces, dressings, soups, proteins, brunch plates, catering trays. We're looking for an experienced prep/line cook: someone who can run a prep list independently in the morning and hold a station through service without supervision.

What you'll do

- Run daily prep: soups, sauces, dressings, proteins, vegetables, and mise for the day and the week ahead
- Execute recipes to spec and scale batches accurately
- Cover a station through breakfast, lunch, and all-day Saturday brunch - eggs, sandwiches, salads
- Prep and assemble catering orders alongside daily service
- Receive deliveries, rotate stock, label and date everything, and flag what's running low
- Manage par levels and keep waste down
- Follow food safety and sanitation standards without being reminded
- Clean as you go and close your station properly
- Communicate clearly with front of house and the baking team

What we're looking for

- Experience in a qualified kitchen, ideally scratch cooking
- Strong knife skills and a working feel for timing and yields




- Works a prep list independently - you don't need to be walked through the day
- Consistency under pressure: same plate, same quality, every time
- Communicates on the line - calls out, confirms, keeps service moving
- Takes coaching and feedback well
- Clean, organized, and respectful of the product and the space
- Reliable and punctual - a small kitchen feels every gap
- Food Handler Certification (or willing to obtain immediately)

Schedule

- Monday prep shift to set up for the week ahead
- Tuesday to Saturday availability required
- Shifts generally fall between 7:30AM and 4:00PM
- Closed Sundays and Mondays
- A handful of evening service events through the year (holidays, seasonal dinners) - scheduled well in advance
