Under the supervision of the Document Control Manager, the Document Control Technician is responsible for applying document management procedures and standards within a construction project while ensuring compliance with contractual requirements.
What you will do :
- Administer the Electronic Document Management System (EDMS);
- Manage user access rights and permissions;
- Apply document coding and identification standards;
- Ensure document management processes are properly followed;
- Act as the primary point of contact for users of the document management platform;
- Perform document control on hospital equipment deliverables, drawings, and specifications, and ensure their distribution to project stakeholders;
- Assist team members in locating and retrieving project documents within the document management system;
- Participate in the continuous improvement of internal electronic document management processes;
- Organize and coordinate the final project documentation handover to the client.
This role could be for you if you have :
- A university certificate in Archival Studies;
- Additional training in Information Management, Archival Studies, Library Science, Records Management, or Documentation;
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in document management;
- Experience in the construction industry and on hospital projects;
- Customer service experience;
- Experience using document management systems and/or document classification systems;
- The ability to conduct document monitoring activities and analyze information management needs;
- An understanding of version control principles and revision management;
- The ability to create and maintain document registers and tracking matrices;
- Basic knowledge of technical documentation, including drawings, specifications, and reports;
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and a robust commitment to accuracy;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities;
- A proactive attitude, autonomy, and initiative;
- The ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting strict deadlines;
- Excellent communication and information-sharing skills;
- The ability to collaborate effectively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders;
- Professionalism and a high level of discretion in handling confidential documents.
