Superior Power Products (2025) Limited (SPPL) is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to support our accounting and inventory operations. This entry-level position is suited to someone with some accounting, bookkeeping experience who wants to develop their skills in a busy, team-oriented workplace.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Payable
- Review, code and enter supplier invoices accurately and promptly.
- Match invoices with purchase orders, packing slips and receiving documentation.
- Investigate pricing, quantity and documentation discrepancies.
- Prepare supplier payments and maintain accounts payable records.
- Reconcile supplier statements and follow up on outstanding items.
- Respond to routine supplier account inquiries.
Accounts Receivable
- Prepare customer invoices using completed work orders and supporting documentation.
- Apply customer payments and maintain accurate accounts receivable records.
- Monitor outstanding customer accounts and assist with collection follow-ups.
- Investigate billing and payment discrepancies.
- Respond to routine customer account inquiries.
Inventory Control
- Enter and maintain accurate inventory transactions in the company’s accounting and inventory systems.
- Verify inventory received against purchase orders, supplier invoices and packing slips.
- Assist with receiving, transferring and recording parts, products and equipment.
- Monitor inventory quantities and identify shortages, discrepancies or unusual activity.
- Assist with inventory counts, cycle counts and year-end physical inventory.
- Reconcile physical inventory counts with system records and investigate variances.
- Help maintain accurate part numbers, descriptions,
costs and inventory locations.
- Review inventory documentation to confirm that parts and materials are properly assigned to customer work orders, service jobs, rentals or internal use.
- Work with purchasing, service, sales and warehouse personnel to resolve inventory discrepancies.
- Assist with inventory reporting, stock adjustments and record maintenance.
- Support the development and consistent use of inventory-control procedures.
General Duties
- Maintain organized electronic and paper accounting and inventory records.
- Assist with credit card reconciliations, filing, data entry and month-end activities.
- Communicate with other departments to obtain missing documentation and correct errors.
- Provide general accounting, inventory and administrative support as required.
Qualifications
- Certificate, diploma or coursework in accounting, bookkeeping, business administration, supply chain, inventory management or a related field is preferred.
- Some previous experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, bookkeeping, inventory control or general office administration is an asset.
- Entry-level applicants with relevant education and practical experience are encouraged to apply.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles,
purchasing documents and inventory-control practices.
- Experience using accounting, inventory or enterprise resource planning software is an asset.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
- Good organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to investigate discrepancies and follow transactions through to completion.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Transparent and professional communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling financial and business information.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with accounting, warehouse, service and sales personnel.
