As an Analyst or Associate in the Risk Management Solutions Group (RMSG) at National Bank of Canada Capital Markets (NBCCM), you will join a specialized and multidisciplinary team dedicated to helping corporate and commercial clients identify, manage, and mitigate financial risks, primarily related to foreign exchange and interest rates, through tailored derivative solutions. Working alongside experienced originators, traders, and structurers on the Montreal trading floor, you will gain hands-on exposure to derivative products, client relationship management, and transaction execution.

This role provides exceptional exposure to financial markets and will equip you with the skills and experience needed to build a successful career in derivatives, capital markets, and client advisory. You will play an active role in the team’s growth initiatives by developing hedging and trading ideas, creating client-facing materials, evaluating and pricing derivative strategies, and assisting with the execution of sophisticated client transactions.

Your Team





Reporting to the Managing Directors and Co-Heads of the Risk Management Solutions Group, you will support senior originators in developing and executing tailored risk management solutions for clients across a broad range of industries in Quebec and Eastern Canada.

Your Job

- Analyze market developments, client exposures and industry trends to identify hedging opportunities and develop actionable risk management strategies.
- Prepare client presentations, quantitative analyses and market insights to support transaction origination, advisory mandates and business-development initiatives.
- Structure, price and execute derivative transactions across foreign exchange and interest rate markets.
- Participate in client meetings, presentations and transaction execution, contributing to the delivery of tailored risk management solutions.
- Collaborate closely with Trading, Structuring, Corporate & Investment Banking and other Capital Markets partners to deliver integrated, value-added solutions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external clients to support business development and transaction execution.
- Coordinate with Trading, Risk Management, Legal, Middle Office and Operations to support efficient transaction execution and effective lifecycle management.
- Develop and enhance automation tools, dashboards and workflow solutions using Excel, VBA, Python or other technologies to improve efficiency, scalability and client responsiveness.

Requirements

- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance, actuarial science, economics, engineering, computer science, mathematics or a related quantitative discipline.
- One to three years of relevant experience in capital markets or a related field.
- Strong quantitative, analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information and develop practical solutions.
- Demonstrated interest in financial markets, derivatives and corporate risk management.




- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with Bloomberg Terminal and financial-market data analytics.
- Experience with Python, VBA, SQL, Power BI or other data analytics and automation tools is an asset.
- Progress toward a CFA, FRM, CQF, actuarial designation or other relevant professional credential is an asset.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently and deliver high-quality results in a quick-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Intellectual curiosity, strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to continuous learning and process improvement.
