Millwright Maintenance Technician – 4th Year Apprentice / Journeyman
Our client is looking for a 4th-Year Millwright Apprentice (preferred) or Journeyman Millwright to join their maintenance team. This is a great opportunity for someone with industrial maintenance experience who enjoys troubleshooting, working with machinery, and keeping production running safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, the Millwright will be responsible for maintaining and improving the reliability of facility and production equipment, including:
- Troubleshooting equipment breakdowns and completing root-cause repairs.
- Repairing, replacing, and maintaining mechanical components and machinery.
- Performing preventative maintenance to reduce equipment failures and production downtime.
- Troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Assisting with machinery modifications, installations, and improvements.
- Performing rigging and slinging of equipment.
- Completing repairs as required.
- Following all safety, hot work, and Lockout/Tagout procedures.
- Working with the maintenance and production teams to keep equipment operating safely and efficiently.
- Providing vacation and leave coverage as required.
- Supplying and maintaining your own tools.
Requirements
- 4th-Year Millwright Apprentice preferred, or Journeyman Millwright.
- Red Seal certification is a strong asset.
- Industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing or production workplace.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with preventative maintenance programs.
- Experience with automated equipment is an asset.
- Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Welding experience is an asset.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Safety-focused with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
